I am trying to share a printer from an XP computer to a 98
computer. They are in the same workgroup. The problem
is, when the 98 tries to connect to the printer, its being
prompted for a password. I have tried absolutely
everything. I put a user account on the XP machine that
matches the one on the 98 machine, I disabled
authentication on the XP machine, and now i'm at a loss.
Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Change the administrator password on the 98 machine to
match the administrator password on the xp machine.

I understand that, but I beleive it is asking you for a
username and password to access the xp machine. You
could try typing in the admin password for the xp machine
but I have run into problems with that before. I've had
to change the admin password on the 98 machine to match
the admin password on the xp machine and that works.

Windows XP uses accounts, the account you log in with in Windows 98
(see your pwl files or look in Users/Passwords control panel) should
match a user on the Windows XP machine!
