Printer Properties/Preferences

I have had a system crash on running chkdisk on my Windows XP Home computer

it as left me with no control of the Printer Properties or Printer
Preferences

can any one help me get them back

Why don't you perform a Repair Installation.
"How to perform an in-place upgrade (reinstallation) of Windows XP"

If the crash was caused by defective hardware (Harddisk, RAM), you may
run into the next trouble either during the repair install or afterwards.

Addendum: You may want to use the System Restore tool first, however,
there is a high risk to restore damaged files and folders which may have
caused the system crash.
