Printer problem

I have a Dell computer with Windows Vista Home Premium and Inspiron 530. When
I try to print from anywhere except for the Office Word Programme, I have to
go into Printer Options and change from "envelope" to "paper" and from
"landscape" to "portrait." No matter how many times I do this and then press
Apply, I have to redo it the next time I need to print something. How can I
get it to stay on the paper and landscape sizes which is what I use most
often?
 
If you are changing the printer setting in the print preview this is exactly
what IS SUPPOSED to happen.

You should change the printer set up in Control Panel>>hardware and
sound>>Printers>>Highlight your printer>>Right click>>Properties>>Device
Settings
