Printer Perfect

I have done two things that make my printers work perfect every time:

1. Keep dust out of the printer. I have made dust covers for my laser
printers and keep my inkjet printer in a closed cabinet. Make sure the paper
is kept clean too. Sometimes the top page of a stack will get dusty and
bring that dirt into the printer. Dirt inside a laser printer can scratch
the rollers.

2. Don't let inkjet cartridges dry out. I remove them and store them in
small Tupperware containers with a damp sponge. After a year now they still
work perfect every time I use them.

Have you had any problems with mold formation?

I could see this only working with cartridges where the head is either
mounted on the cartridge (eg: HP) or is removable (eg: Canon p4000) and
can be stored with the carts.

This wouldn't work with Epson printers where the head is mounted in the
printer permanently and would dry => clog without ink being pulled
through it regularly.
