Printer Migration Help

Hi,

I am currently trying to migrate 300 printers from a
Windows2000 server to a Windows2003 server using Print
Migrator 3.1.

The tool is migrating all the Printer Ports, Drivers etc
over but not the actual Printers themselves?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi Felix,

Thanks for coming back to me.

I know that Print Migrator should migrate all the print
queues but it's not happening for us.

I have cleaned the spooler on our new Windows2003 server
using the Windows Rescouce Kit Tools and also ran the
FIXPRNSRV command to ensure all the drivers are ok (as we
are migrating from Windows2000).

Am not sure if there is anything else that can be done
apart from doing the migration manually.

Does the printmig log contain any errors? Would you want to share the
generated cab with us? We could look if the queue are properly saved. If you
want to, you can send an email to pmbeta at microsoft.com and we'll take it
from there.

Looks like first attempt at posting didn't quite do what I expected.
We are also attempting to move a large number of printers to othe
servers. All servers are win2000. When we try to move from on
specific server, we get everything but the printers. If we use
different server as the source we have no problems. Of course the on
causing the problem is the one with the printers we want. an
thoughts
thanks..gle
