Printer driver trouble...

I

Ian Francis

I have this printer driver that is giving me a hard time. It is for an HP
2200 DTN LaserJet that has been uninstalled from all clients and servers.
Whenever I visit the Drivers list located at File - Server Properties of the
Printers folder and try to delete the driver, I get the message:

"Unable to remove HP LaserJet 2200 Series PCL 5, Intel, Windows 2000 Driver.
The specified driver is currently in use."

This message is of course false as the printer is no longer on the network.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this?

Thanks in advance,

Ian

Ian,

Make sure we have no print queues left for this printer on the system. Make sure there is no software still installed for this
printer, like say monitoring software. You may need to stop the Print Spooler service before trying to remove the driver.

If none of this works take a look at the steps in the following article to see if they help.
