Printed Watermark command grayed out

The Format > Background > Printed Watermark command is always grayed out for
me. I'm using Word 2003, SP2. If I click on "Printed Watermark" I get the
message "This feature is disabled because it is not compatible with Microsoft
Word 97."

I'm in Print view. Also tried it in Normal view, but same result. Also
checked the Tools > Options > Compatibility tab, which indicates the settings
are for Word 2003.

Anything else I can try to use this feature?

Take a look at Tools>Options>Save & clear the check for "Disable Features
Introduced After:", which defaults to Word 97.
