Print to txt file

Is there a way to create a printer like the Microsoft XPS Document Writer?

I have a report made with Crystal Reports which you can assign a printer.
That when this report is printed needs to be save or exported to a file call
Matotjc.txt. This file name never changes and the location that the files is
saved never changes..

Any Idea's????

Thanks

Install a "generic text printer", and then print to file. Start at "Add
a printer"

Windows / Printers / Add a Printer lets us create
a pseudoprinter called Print to File. This differs
from your Matotjc.txt (1) in that it has a default
location that can be reset on demand, (2) of type
PRN (by default) (3) requiring keyboard input of
a filename in order to complete the process of
"printing" to file.

I have created a Generic/Text Only printer. It defaults the saving to
desktop which bad maybe it can be defaulted to save elsewhere. But the
format is all messed up and there are extra symbles.

You will likely need to go into Printer properties and fuss with the
settings a bit. There may also be an issue with your application output
that is causing the "extra symbols".

Well I played around with the properties and the Print Processors trying it
to out put the correct information. Well it didn't...

So still looking for ideas?

Thanks for you help...

Unfortunately, my second sentence may be the answer. You may have to
clean it up by deleting the "applications" formatting characters.

Well I'll try that.

The worst part I need to do the same thing but to a *.csv format..

Thanks for your help..

If you can "puzzle out" what feature (maybe borders or underlining) in
the software puts it there maybe eliminate that.
