Print to File

In early versions of Windows you uded to have a device
available called 'Print to File'. Now you can add such a
device but it asks for a specific printer driver.

Is there any way to have the old, device-
independant 'Print to File' functionality of the old days?

If you mean the FILE: port then you can get it back by adding a local port
and just use FILE: for the port name.
