I have been having problems with print sharing over a linksys wireless
network. Two machines running WINXP. One machine (OFFICE) has local printer
with sharing checked in set up. Printer called LEXMARK. Printer is visible
on both machines. When I try to install it on the wireless machine (BONUS),
I can find the printer listed as \\Office\LEXMARK. However; when I try to
install it on BONUS, it pulls up a password screen with Guest as the user. I
do not have Guest installed as users on either machine. It comes back that
user does not have access to machine.

Any suggestions?

So how do you authenticate between Bonus and Office? Remember that any share
permissioned to Everyone means "Every Authenticated User". If you didn't
activate Guest, what account are you using?

Isn't Guest installed by default? It might be disabled, and if so that
would explain your problem.

Thanks for the quick response

I mispoke in the original message. THe guest accounts are activated but are
not visible in the startup screen. I have all accounts, with exception of
guest, as admin and users with no passwords.

I now cannot see the printer from the client (Bonus) computer, nor can I
accesst the host (office) computer. I rebooted both machines.

Still at a loss

Thanks for the response.

You are correct. The guest account was activated but not visible on the
startup screen

Check HOW you activated Guest.

If you're going to use Guest authentication, check for misconfigured /
overlooked firewalls, and check registry setting restrictanonymous.
