Print server for Vista/XP

S

Simon

Hi,
I've been using a Netgear PS111 print server with my XP machines (and
even Ubuntu) for a couple of years with no problems at all. I got a
new Vista laptop last week and I've struggled to get the print server
working for that machine. All the settings appear to correct and the
same as the XP settings. When I set up a new print server port for the
first time, everything works ok, but after I reboot, Vista fails to
connect to the print server. If I start the process from scratch it's
ok again. I've seen a few others posts on the net discussing similar
problems.
Unless someone can suggest a foolproof way of getting Vista to talk to
this print server, can anyone suggest another print server (doesn't
have to be wireless) that has been proven to work successfully with
both operating systems?

Thanks

Simon

Many Vista issues can be fixed by install it locally, and then re-map it as
networking printer. This post may help too. Please post back with the
result.
