Print Screen Problem

My new HP Pavilion 9000 (MS Home edition with SP2 and all updates) does not
pick up te image when I try to transfer a desktop image to MSPaint by
clicking either prtscr or alt-Prtscr and then pressing crtl-V in the Paint
window. The procedure works fine on my DELL desktop which has the same OS.
Any expanation and fix would be appreciated.

There could be very simple reason of this problem. After pressing the Print
Screen or Alt+Print Screen button, open Paint and be sure that "Select"
button from Toolbar is selected or click any other toolbar button except
"Text (A)" and then click Paste from Edit menu or Ctrl+V. This is because if
Text tool is selected from Toolbar then Paste will be disabled.
