I find it very anoying when internet explorer gives me a
drop down menu of all my previous searches when I begin to
type into the search window on web sites like google and
msn. Is there any way to disable this.

In the Internet Options control panel (Tools=>Internet Options menu in IE),
on the Content tab, press the Autocomplete tab... Uncheck the 'Use
Autocomplete for Web Addresses' checkbox. That will stop the drop-down from
the Address bar when it has focus. If at any time you want to display what
is in the Address bar list press the down arrow while holding the Ctrl key.
