previous installation files needed

Please help! Somehow a file in the System 32 folder was
corrupted & we were forced to reinstall Windows XP
professional & overwrite our previous installation.
Programs like Adobe Photoshop & Macromedia Dreamweaver
work fine & did not need to be reintstalled. However,
the icons for all the Microsoft Office programs are
present, but all say they need to be reinstalled. Does
this mean that our information stored in Outlook, such as
emails & contacts is lost? Is there anyway we can
retrieve this information?

You PST files and documents should be OK as long as you didn't format
the hard drive. Use Start>Search>Find Files to find *.doc for your
Documents. You .pst file for outlook should be recognized when you
reinstall Office.
