Preview Slow to Update

A number of my users are experiencing slow response from
the preview pane after selecting a mail item from the
main screen of Outlook 2002. It takes several seconds for
the preview pane to update. Any ideas on what this could
be?

Try turning off the "Instant Messaging"

Open the TOOLS menu
Select OPTIONS...
Select the OTHER tab

Turn off the check mark next to "Enable Instant Messaging
on Microsoft Outlook"
