preview pps in FP

how can i change security settings so that i can preview .pps in front page?
 
You can't view PPS in frontpage - PPS is a powerpoint file.

Preview the site in a browser, as that is what everyone else will be using.
 
when i press F12 and preview my website, i still get a message saying my
security settings will not allow me to download the file (a .pps file)
 
You should ask the question in an Internet Explorer newsgroup.
