preview pane vulnerability?

Is it a vulnerability to have your outlook preview pane enabled? Is it better to utilize auto preview? Are there security issues with this. Also would it be the same with Outlook Express?
THank you.

Autopreview is plain text - it's 100% safe.

As with Outlook, the version of Outlook Express you use determines how
secure it is.

Thank you Diane. Outlook Express is running on XP. In regards to plain text. Is there a setting for plain text?

On OE or Outlook?

Outlook 2002/2003: http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/plain_text.htm use
Chilton preview for other versions of outlook.

OE: look in tools, options, read tab - if your OE supports it, the option is
there. (OE6 does.)
