Preview Pane Meeting Request Response Buttons

Does anyone know of a way to programmatically capture & override the preview
pane's meeting request response buttons (accept, decline, tentative). I
looked and can't find anyway to do this. I'm hoping that I've just missed
something but I fear that this is just another case of "you can't get there
from here".
