Preview Pane Font

Outlook 2000

I have a user who likes to use the preview pane. Recently, we gave the user
a new flat panel LCD with a higher resolution, and now the text in the
preview pane is difficult for him to read. I know that you can right-click
the header information for the preview pane and select the Font option to
change the size of the fonts in the preview pane, which is how I have
addressed this issue with other users. However, on this particular machine
the Font option is grayed out. How do I make the option available so that I
change the preview pane font size for the user?

Change the font settings in Windows as well as Outlook. Make sure Clear Type
is turned on. That will make a big difference. Display
Properties>Appearance>Effects. Also selecting a bold font in
Outlook>tools>options> format>fonts button might help. There are other
settings in Windows Display Properties--Extra large fonts, larger DPI
settings plus others. Explore all the Advanced buttons and settings. Set a
Restore point before changing anything.

Thanks for the response. I've tried all of your suggestions, and things are
set pretty well--except for the Outlook preview pane. What I really need to
know is how to make the Font option available when I right-click on the
preview pane headers in Outlook. Right now, that option is grayed out for
the user in question, but it's available on other machines.
