Preview Pane Always On

Is there an overall command to make sure the Preview Pane is always on.
At present I'm having to turn it on in every folder.

Is there an overall command to make sure the Preview Pane is always
on. At present I'm having to turn it on in every folder.

It is a folder attribute, not a global layout feature, so, yes, you have
to select which folders you want it to show.
