prevent users from installing software

i have xp. how do i prevent users from installing
software? where and what in the adminstrator do i change
to prevent others from installing software?

when this is done what does that involve does everyone
need to access with a password or just the adminstrator?

have you tried setting the user to "limited"?
This can be done from control panel/user accounts/
(click on account to change) change account type/
set to limited.
