Is it possible to restrict logon during certain hours?

Not in standard Windows XP AFAIK. Perhaps some of the add-in security
packages will do this, e.g. Symantec's.

See Carey's reply whioh explains how to control logging, but no way to
force logoff. ... my learning today.

This kind of functionality provided by domain controllers to which XP
Pro can join to.
