Prevent "flashing" redraw of shapes on side during design mode?

Hi,

I have a diagram on a slide made from basic shapes.
It consists of several small rectangles on top of a larger
rectangle. When I first navigate to the slide in design
mode it flashes many times as apparently the overlapping
rectangles cause each other to be cyclically redrawn.
Changing the "grouping" and "ordering" options does
not help. This redraw flashing does not happen in
slide-show mode.

Is there any trick to preventing the flashing in design
mode?

This is PP 2002.

Thanks,
Alan Cobb

This is usually corrected by bumping the video acceleration down a notch or
two.

Hi Bill,

Bumping down the acceleration did the trick.
Actually, I also found that there was a secondary cause
in my case. I had a lot of other applications open, including
two VMWare virtual machines running. Once I shut all
those other programs down the flashing in PP design
mode went away even with full acceleration turned
back on.

Thanks,
Alan Cobb
