Pressing the back button

I have been to several web sites where I am attempting to do a search, the
first search goes great, I look at an item, but when I go back, I get "page
cannot be displayed", but if I press refresh on the page, it brings me back
to the original search page and I have to re-enter all the search criteria.
Is there a setting that is preventing me from using the back button on these
sites? I have been to the same sites on other pc's and it works normal. Any
ideas

I have this same problem. I play an online text based browser game. Before I
used to be able to hit the back button and the fields would retain the
information I had entered, but now when I press the back button I get the
"page cannot be displayed" message. It worked prior to SP2, so I'm hoping
there's a fix for this PROBLEM that the PATCH created. *sigh*

If you use a HOSTS file to block advertising, try renaming your HOSTS file
temporarily, to see if that's the cause.
If so, then open your HOSTS file with any text editor to see if it uses the
127.0.0.1 format for blocked domains.
If so, use a text editor to replace all instances of 127.0.0.1 with 0.0.0.0
then your browser buttons should work normally again (exception: the first
line for localhost must remain as 127.0.0.1)
