The Back Button and Searching

I was wondering if there was any way to change the settings on Internet Explorer so that when I have been searching for something, and I press the back button, the entry that I had previously searched for would still be in the search box. Now, when I search for something and then press the back button, the entry disappears and I have to type the whole entry over again. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

That's not the most efficient way to use a search page.
Press Shift- when you click on a result link.
That will open the selected search hit in a new window.
Then you have more options. You can read the hit page,
then close its window to be returned to your *unchanged*
search page window. Or you can leave the hit page open
and switch back to the search page window.
