Pressing CTRL-ENTER does not append .com

When I enter a web page, I usually enter the web page
i.e. "microsoft" and do a Ctrl-Enter. When I do this it
used to put the "www." and the ".com" before and after.
Now when I do it it takes me to some sort of search page.
Is there anyway I can fix this back?
