Pressing Control and Enter together: Help!

In Word 2007, when I press Control and Enter together I get a bold line
across the page which seems impossible to get rid of. When I print, there it
is on the page. Help please!

Ctrl+Enter by default inserts a page break, which should not print.

Many thanks for this. I think I might have been wrong in saying that
CTRL-ENTER is how it happened. But these lines are there at various points in
the document: they print out, and are apparently undeletable. Any ideas?
