Preset file properties in Word 2000

How do I change permanently the preset file properties in
Word 2000? It currently inserts the name of the computer
manufacturer in the properties box for every document.
I've tried to create a new normal.dot template with the
file properties I want, but Word keeps putting the computer
manufacturer's name in there.

Thank you very much for the information. I was hoping I
wouldn't have to get into the registry, but no such luck I
guess.
