Hi,

Sorry if I sound like a bit of a novice, but I'm new to MS Powerpoint.

I have created a presentation with several slides, each containing a
bar chart pasted in from excel.

I have set up some custom animation settings on each series within
each chart (ie so each set of bars appears separately after a short
time delay).

The problem I have is that I need to replace each chart on a weekly
basis with an updated version. When I do this, I have to apply all
the animation settings on each chart again. Is there any way round
this ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

James McKenzie.

Hi James,

I would insert the chart from excel in a linked format (Paste Special| Link)
and us the following information tog et PowerPoint to update it when you
change the source chart.

Graphs don't update automatically

Hi Glen,

Thanks Very Much for your advice, but I'm still getting problems.

When I paste a link to the Excel chart into Powerpoint, as you
suggested, the custom animation settings that I was originally
applying are no longer available (Slide Slow -> Custom Animation ->
Chart Effect -> Introduce Chart Elements .... is greyed out).

Any ideas ?

If it's any help, I'm using MS Powerpoint 2000 SR-1.

Thanks in Advance,

James.
