prefetch not working

I just installed an A7N8X Deluxe Rev. 2 and a fresh
install of XP Home, and when I checked the Prefetch
folder, there is nothing in it.
I've checked the registry entries and they are indeed
enabled at (3) for 'both' programs and system files, but
there is nothing in the prefetch folder.
It takes alot longer to boot the machine without the
prefetch, and I would like to resolve this problem
without having to do a 'Repair' on XP, as this ALWAYS
leads to a 'Remote Access Connection Failure' problem
when I try to access the internet afterwards.
Is there anything I can do to just replace specific
registry entries or system files needed without doing a
full repair or reinstall?

The prefetch folder does not begin building itself until the third
or fourth reboot. You might want to check your SERVICES and
make sure TASK SCHEDULER is started and set to "automatic".
