I want to turn off all of the pull-down menus (for lack of
better description) which occur whenever I am typing in a
field - it brings up passwords, and prior subject info,
etc. in emails and more. I want to turn it off for
privacy's sake. HELP

Go to internet options..content tab...click the autocomplete button
and uncheck the boxes. Then click the clear forms and clear passwords
button.

Try IE Options>Content Tab>autocomplete>un-check all three boxes> clear all
forms and passwords. Although the advanced tab of IE Options has similar
options (use inline autocomplete for...) they are subservient to the content
tab IIRC. Anyway, you can uncheck those as well.

Also, R-Click Taskbar>properties>Start menu programs>clear documents menu.

You might also want to clear history if you don't want any other Typed Urls
showing in the Address bar, and in the future use Ctrl-o (letter "o") and
ctrl-enter or OK. Then they won't be added to the address bar dropdown list.
