Predesigned template

I need to know how to change the background colors of a predesigned template,
without changing the design. I used the one with the bubbles and child, but
my boss want's a lighter color (other than green), can I change this?

That depends on how the template is made. Go to View > Master > Slide Master.
From there, click Format > Background.
Click the drop down box and select the color you want, Apply to All.
This may not work if the template itself is already a background or a
picture covering the whole slide.

Activate the slide design - colourscheme taskpane. At the bottom there is a
link Edit colour schemes, click on it. Click the box background, click
change colour, choose your new colour, hit OK and Apply.
