Pre vista sp1 updates missing

I am having some trouble getting to download sp1 for Vista to my home
computer running Vista Home Premium.

First, various microsoft articles say I should first have updates 950127,
935509 and 949939. My update history shows other prescribed updates, but not
these. My windows Update app does not say I need them.

In fact, my Windows update app does not say that sp1 is available. I
checked article 948343, but find none of the explanations for this omission
to match anything in my computers history.

Lastly, when I find the download article for sp1, it has a huge 5 language
version, and says that it should not be used for single computers. I cannot
find a single computer version of SP1 to download. At this point, I am
afraid to download the 5 language version. Can someone advise me how to
solve the Windows Update problem, and straighten me out about thos
pre-requisite updates?

Actually, as I stated in my question, this article does not answer any of my
questions.

None of the problems with Windows Update happened on my computer. Nothing
about getting the stated pre updates is mentioned. Nothing about getting the
single machine version of SP1, etc.

The large 400+ MB Vista SP1 update download can certainly be used
for a single PC. In fact, it is the best way to do the update. The only
reason it's not recommended for single PC use is the size of the download.
Save it to a CD or on a backup HD for possible future Vista reinstallation.

That is excellent news! But assuming that Windows Update's inability to find
the SP1 update is not a problem for the future, do you know anything about
those two other updates that are supposed to aid with the install? Or might
they now be part of the larger SP1?

They are not required for the full size stand-alone SP1 update. All
needed files to cover any installation configuration are in the update.
