Pre-set the Insertion Point in a Template

Michael

I am using Word 97. Have designed a 'form' which uses the Insert Field
facility and in particular there are three FILLINs. I want then to move the
insertion point to a spot further down the form so that user can start to
type in immediately. However, I cannot get the insertion point to move
automatically to the desired point. each time I open a new instance of the
form using the saved template the insertion point reverts to the top of the
page after the FILLIN information has been typed. How can I correct this
please?

Have you considered using form fields instead? Then users can tab from one
to the other. Or, if this is a document that needs to be edited normally but
requires information filled in in three places, you could use a UserForm.

For information on creating protected forms using form fields, see

the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to.
