Hi i have recently ran security scans with Zone labs security suite 6 pro, ad
aware 6 pro and symantec antivirus corporate edition, these where full system
scans, nothing was found on any of them except the symantec one, it was
classed as spyware, I did not read it and just deleted it from quantine. I
sut down my laptop and when i booted it back up in the morning at work the
sony VAIO logo came up as usual then it just went to a blank screen, my
recovery disks did not work and safe mode does not work, I have a Sony VAIO
VGN-FJ1Z/W laptop i have had it for just over a year now, with full insurance
cover. how can this be resolved? Please help! I am using my work computer.

Preinstalled systems usually come with disks to restore the system to it's
original condition. If these are failing, you need a new copy of them.

Read the included manual. Several system that I have seen recently
have a "hidden" partition which stores the recovery system. You may
need to press a special key or buy a recovery start disk (heaven
forbid!)

Yes i know about the hidden recovery partition thats how i created the
recovery disks, using the built in sony "make recovery media kit provided"
and when i created it the hidden partition was deleted to save disk space,
about 10GB total

Check the Vaio's BIOS so as to see the drives boot order sequence.
The CD/DVD drive needs to be set before thr hard drive in the boot
sequence. Then, when the Vaio boots, the CD/DVD should access the
"recovery" CD and ask you what to do next.
