Since running a defrag, I seem to have been having a lot of new faults with
windows. I downloaded XP SP2 and therefore have no CD to attempt a reinstall.
I cant see from MS websites how you can download whole file again. Attaching
files to an AOL e-mail causes the application to close, and I dont think
problem is with AOL. Trying to upload a photo to E-bay (any photo) using
either AOL or IE causes them to crash.

When you installed SP 2, did you disable your anti virus auto scan? If not,
you've probably got a corrupt installation.

I would recommend that you do a clean install and get AOL off your computer
and get a real ISP. You can order the SP2 CD free from Microsoft at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

After you reinstall XP, do a clean up/chkdsk and defrag. Then install SP 2.
Do a clean up/chkdsk and defrag again. Make sure the XP Windows firewall is
turned on and go and get the latest updates from Windows Update. Do a clean
up/chkdsk and defrag again. Install your programs (NOT AOL!) and do a clean
up/chkdsk and defrag again. Then install your devices like your camera,
printer, etc.

If you do the above, you will finally have a computer that works properly
without AOL controlling it.
