PPTP Stops working

I have a problem with my PPTP-VPN connecions.
When I connect to my W2K-server (SP4) with a client(XP SP1) everything works
fine.
But after 1-3 hours (seems to differ each time) the connection stops sending
any traffic. The connection is still connected.
Does anyone have a clue ??

What kind of traffic are you expecting here?Is the connection idle?
 
No the connection isn't idle.
There isn't heavy traffic. Just outlook checking the mailserver through the
PPTP connection

Are you saying you are not receiving any data on your connection and in
effect not able to access anything on the network?
