hello to all
made an .exe file (PP2002) with iexpress but it starts with a splash screen
when I tell the bloody thing it should start without it does not start at
all (message: cannot find file OR PPViewer....and has to close).
Video: it should run automatically, but you can only see the first pic of
the video and nothing else happens (no fault message).
All files are in the package (PPViewer, .pps, several music and other word
files (working), video file...all you would have on autorun cdrom).
Any suggestions?
Thanks...

It sounds as though this is a tech support question for iexpress.

As to the video file, does it work if you move the video and the PPT to a
different computer, same folder, and play it there? If not, it may be a
linking problem.

Dear Steve
all the stuff is coming from an autorun cdrom which is working fine.
when I use iexpress the presentation is working fine with all linked files
but not the video (same link).
It is all done on WinXP but the presentation is coming from Win98. I cannot
see that that could cause a problem because the autorun cd is working on the
testing environment WinXP.
The procedure was using the files directly from cdrom, so the testing
environment is clean.
After seeing that problem I stored the files on the testing environment and
before using iexpress the video is running after using iexpress it is not
running. like I said you see the first pic of the video but it is not
running and you do not get a fault message.
The video is an avi-file and about 60 MB.
I have only one XP environment so I cannot test it on a different computer
because of PPViewer 2003. The only thing I can say is that the presentation
itself incl. video is running on Win98 and PP2002, WinXP PPViewer2003 and
WinXP PP2002, WinXP + AutorunCD with PPViewer2003.
I am sure that is a simple problem but I cannot see it.

kind regards
Kacy

Dear Sonia,
I used all I could think of and the results were:
- ignoring by staring with Splash Screen
- cannot find playlist.txt
- cannot find presentation.pps
- installation failed
- PPViewer general fault message
But the main problem is the video not playing WHITHOUT ANY MESSAGE you can
only see the first pic expecting the video is running but nothing is
happening and without the video I have to forget everything about iexpress.

After seeing that problem I stored the files on the testing environment and
before using iexpress the video is running after using iexpress it is not
running.

Have you checked with iexpress' tech support? This does seem to point in their
direction if it works until they touch it. I'm not sure how much help we can
be here since iexpress is an unknown, but with luck, someone will have used it
and worked out the answer. Fingers crossed, but in the meanwhile, I'd rattle
iexpress' chain.

like I said you see the first pic of the video but it is not

Dear Steve

you were right it was an iexpress problem.
While downloading other stuff to do the job I kept on trying (I am very
patient) and the 21st time I got a different result (with the SAME SED)
which was 18 KB larger and now everything seems to be working. I have still
a little video problem but the environment is not clean now. I will check
again and if needed I´ll come back.
Many thanks for your support.

Sounds good, and thanks for letting us know what's up. Although it's sort of a
voodoo thing at this stage, isn't it? :-(
