PPT2007 - Advancing slides

How do I disable the default behavior of advancing the slide when clicked? I
only want the slide(s) to advance to the next slide if the user clicks a
button that I have added for that specific purpose. But the default
Powerpoint behavior is to advance if there is a mouse click anywhere on the
slide. How can I get around this?

The easiest way in PPT 2007 is to go to the Animations tab and uncheck the
"On Mouse Click" box. If you want to go one more level of protection from
advancement, go to the Slide Show tab, click Set up Show and change to Kiosk
mode.
