PPT files with a Password to modify can't be opened on a Mac

I've added a "password to modify" on many of my PPT 2003 files and
distributed them to a large number of users. The Mac PPT 2004 users can not
open the files. Is there a work around for them?

No, afraid not, other than distributing your presentation in some other format
that supports password protection on Mac (PDF for example).
