We have a ppS file on our website that we have available for download
When clicking the link to this file it wants to save the file as a PPT file
and the lank will consequently not download the file as it cannot find it.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

Hi Sam,

Does this happen on all PCs? Can we see the link?

Glenna

It seems to be on all computers but I will test it further
How would you like to see the link? See landpro.co.uk and click the "Quick
Demonstration of LiberRATE" link

Thanks

Sam

Re landpro.co.uk

I tried it and found that if (in MSIE 6) I rightclick and Save Target As, the
default option is a PPT file. Is this the problem you're referring to, or is
it that users w/o PPT are offered the option of saving the file directly on
clicking the link?

If I just click the link, the PPS (after a LOOOONNNNG delay with no hint that
anything's going on) opens in MSIE. If nothing else, I'd certainly let users
know that they're about to download a 2.5mb one way or the other, and to be
patient. Otherwise, you'll lose them.
