PP Does not recognise music

I have copied music to MyDocuments > My Music. I can see the music in my
computer but cannot get PP to find the music when I try and insert sound into
PP presentation

Brenda,
Are you inserting the music using Insert - Movies and sounds - sounds from
file? In the Insert music dialog browse to the My music folder if necessary,
the sound files should be there.

also, check the file format of your music, it may be unusual and powerpoint
may not recognise it for that reason...

Steps to insert music to PowerPoint:
1. Display the slide to which you want to add music or sound effects.
2. Click Insert -> Movies and Sounds -> Sound from File, locate the
folder that contains the sound file that you want, and then double-
click the sound file.
3. In the succeeding dialog box which says “How do you want the sound
to start in the slide show”, do one of the following:
Click “Automatically” if you want to play the sound automatically when
you go to the slide
Click “When Clicked” if you want to play the sound when you click the
sound icon.

Tip:
Using Wondershare PPT2Flash Standard (an add-in of PowerPoint,
http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-flash.html) to insert music to
PowerPoint with one click. It's a free feature to use this feature.
Only you need do is download and install it.
