Is there any way (short of writing the code) to get Powerpoint
animation to dissolve a bullet in, and then upon clicking the
mouse button, have the current bullet dissolve out as the new
bullet dissolves in? I know I can use fade in and dim to
simulate this effect, but it would be nicer if the previous
bullet would just disappear as the new text appeared. I've
looked at all the canned animation schemes and don't see an
obvious candidate.

Thanks.

Hey Fearless,

Maybe not quite what you're looking for, but try this:
Under custom animation, after animation, select Hide on
Next Mouse Click and make sure your animation is grouped
by 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level paragraph.

This is a good start and may be the only simple solution to the problem.
I'll have to work on the templating for this and then save it as a regular
animation scheme, easily applicable to any slide I want.

Thanks.

You'd have to set this up manually with a fade exit animation happening
at the same time (with previous) as the fade entrance animation.
