PowerQuest Gone

Looks like the purchase of PowerQuest by Symantec is complete.
Today, the home page for PowerQuest http://www.powerquest.com/
has changed to the Symantec logo/color scheme.
I wonder how long it will take before PQMagic shows up on store
shelves with the Symantec brand ?

Once Symantec designs the new packaging for the PowerQuest
product line and ships the products, you'll see the new packaging
in stores. How long this process will take is anyone's guess. If you're
anxious, give Symantec a telephone call and inquire.

I don't believe so since Partition Magic is a partitioning program
and Ghost is a hard drive imaging program. Symantec never had
a partitioning program comparable to Partition Magic.

No, Partition Magic is a utility for modifying disk drives, not
an imaging software package. Symantec has never had a disk
prep/modification program in their lineup.

What I meant was that Symantec probably bought them for
the Partition Magic product line. Symantec's Ghost and PQ's
Drive Image are competing products, so I would assume that
Drive Image will be merged somehow into Ghost or become
a Ghost branded label.

I was joking about PQMagic showing up in stores with
Symantec packaging. However, next time I'm over at the local
Best Buy I wouldn't be surprised to see it right next to Norton
Anti-Virus and Nis in a yellow colored box.

I just bought Partition Magic 8.0 directrly from them and true to the
Symantec name the service has already gone the way of Symantec. No answers
to tech questions. Difficult to speak to. And the program won't run on XP
prof. Shows as init failure. Missing file but no file name given.

If you or anyone has any help for me I would appreciate it.

something else, or get a life.

Runs fine on my XP pro (sat on FAT32) Was your system "tidy" before you
installed it? Did you disable a/v software b4 installing it? Did you
create a restore point b4 installing it?

they still have support and kb and everythig same as before.
just change desing and some info.

also if that is error 504 issue.

Get your machine tidied up and sorted out, and you'll find symantec products
are VERY good.
