PowerPoint: Text - Level 1 and Level 2

How do I get my bullet levels to look like this...?

Level 1
Level 2
* Level 3
- Level 4

I can't seem to edit the master slide beyond something
looking like the default spacings, like this...

Level 1 (removed bullet)
Level 2 (removed bullet)
* Level 3
- Level 4

I know it's possible to get the effect I'm after, as I've
used corporate templates with left aligned levels and
bullets. Am I missing a menu option to clear all levels
and then build them from scratch?

So the problem is the indent on level 2 that you can't get rid of?
Try holding down Ctrl while you move the gadget on the ruler to set the
indent.
That lets you move it past its normal stopping point.

Ha! Simple as that! Ctrl is the same as Alt in Word.
Nice of MS to think of consistency through the packages!
