PowerPoint Tables

Can you sort numbers within a PowerPoint table without using word or excel?
Can you set tabs for an entire column as apposed to each cell in a
PowerPoint table?
What is the easiest way for a client who has large amounts of data tables
that have been done in Word and need to be put into PowerPoint and be
editable within PowerPoint? Too time consuming to bring one table in at a
time.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer!!

Other than manually (or by writing vba code to do the job), you can't.

Great question. I didn't think so but you can:

Apply the tab settings you want to the first cell in the column (skip the
header row if it's differently formatted, of course)
Select the text
Click the Format Painter brush on the toolbar
Click and drag to select all the rest of the text in the column. When you let
go, PPT applies the tabs (and other formatting) to the text.

Note that you have to press Ctrl+Tab to enter tab characters in PPT tables.
Otherwise you just tab into the next cell.

Short of having an add-in custom-written, I don't know of any solution to that
one.

Thanks much Steve. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. They
will probably have to get an add-in software like e-tabs. They are a research
firm that is dealing with a huge amount of data and their client wants it in
PowerPoint - just not meant for this.

Thanks Again!!
