Hi, I am putting together a powerpoint slide show/presentation that combines
text and photos. On some of the slides I have 2 bullet points and 2 photos.
When the slide show runs I want the order of the slide to be: bullet point,
then photo, then next bullet point, then the next photo. I am having no luck
figuring this out; would appreciate if anyone can offer help. Thanks Cathy

Hi - instructions for XP / 2003 its a little different in earlier versions

You need to go to custom animation pane and expand the entry for text by
clicking the little double arrow below it

You should now see each line seperately

Drag the entries for photos to get

text line 1
photo 1
text line 2
photo two

All "on click" (probably) or maybe "after previous"

Hi John, thanks for the message. I am embarrassed to admit this but I dont
understand the instruction. I selected the slide, then clicked on > Slide
Show >Custom Animation

Then I looked at the options but didnt see anything that allowed me to do
what you recommend. I tried selecting each of the photos and the two bullet
points (in one text box) but didnt get any info on expanding the entry for
text.

Could I please trouble you to provide step by step instructions for the
dimwitted?

Thanks again, Cathy

Hello again. I think I am getting the custom animation procedure to some
extent but for some reason when I add the custom animation it introduces the
object twice. For example, I have a photo that I added "blinds" to, but
first the photo enters in a regular way and then it comes in again with the
"blinds" feature. I dont see what I am doing wrong and am not able to fix it.
Could you tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks Cathy

What do you mean "enters in a regular way"?

Do you have any animation applied to the placeholders on the slide masters?

Hi, I just mean that as I click the "PLAY" button to view the slide's
animation, first the slide object comes in with no animation, then it comes
in again with the "blinds" animation. I believe there are placeholders
because I can see small numbers in white boxes that say "1", "2" etc, next to
the object. Is that a placeholder? Thanks Cathy

Look in the custom animation task pane. Delete the entrance animation that
does not have the blinds animation applied. You can tell what animation an
object has by clicking the animation in the task pane and then reading the
information that shows up at the top of the task pane. Entrance animations
are designated with green symbols in the pane.

A placeholder is the object on a slide that says "click to add text" or
"click to add title" or "click to add chart" or it has 6 little icons you'd
click to add a piece of content -- a diagram, a picture, a chart, etc.

The small numbers you see indicate that the item is animated.

Hi Echo, thanks for explaining some of the terms to me. I have alot to learn
about Powerpoint. I am finding the animation procedures very confusing and
difficult to understand but will try working with them some more to get more
cogent questions for you. Cathy

Hi Cathy
You can set this way by selecting Animation in order you want. Once you
go the Custom animation by right click on the indivudal slide you will
be able to adjust.
Hope you have done it.
