powerpoint music and narration

I am new to Powerpoint. I want to create a presentation which uses a
background music track which plays throughout the presentation AND include
narration over it. I don't want to play from a disc. I want to drop the
files right into Powerpoint. Can this be done?

Yes, it can be done. This should get you there.
Play sounds across multiple slides (A WAV runs through it)
