Powerpoint is unable to read or open .jpg attachments

I'm unable to open .jpg attachments received via email (MS Outlook). Error
message received: Powerpoint is cant read .jpg attachment
 
First, save the jpg to your desktop (or any desired folder). Open a BLANK
presentation in PowerPoint. select "insert picture from file" and find your
jpg. This will place it in the presentation. You can either cut & paste into
another presentation or use the "insert picture from file" function from any
presentation you've created.
