PowerPoint Fails to Show Embeded Objects

Chris

We have several powerpoint presentations which show red X's on most of the
embeded objects in the presentation. Please don't ask me to change the
Graphic Acceleration as that was tested and still didn't resolve the issue.

A strange thing to point out is if the account is power user or above the
presentation loads fine, only on an account with user privledges does this
occur. I tried to give the user full control to the folder and file itself to
ensure it is not a rights issue.

This is happening on Windows XP SP 2 Office 2003 SP2 and SP3...tried to
fully patch the OS and Office, tried the compatibility patch as well; nothing
seems to fix it for the accounts with user privledges. Any Suggestions or
Ideas

Hi Chris

Have a look at the article here to see if you can find a solution:
RED X instead of graphics
http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00064.htm

As it is only occuring with one account on a pc I would look at fast saves &
number of undos as I *think* these are user level settings. Let us know how
you get on.

Thank You for the Reply I have indeed come across this article in the hunt I
can break down each point but feel that would be overkill. This particular
issue in not on 1 specific account. If I copy the file to a computer and
create a brand new accout say "test" with admin rights and open the file
everything works great no Red X's. Take that same account strip the Admin
rights and give that account only user rights and the graphs, a few images
and it appears embedded slides through out the presentation turn to red x's.
If this account clicks on the graph it appears in edit mode no problem, very
strange
